The SC Fertility Care Network in the Global South, in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University (UK) and the Gambia Fertility Society is presenting at the IFFS World Conference 2025 in Tokyo.

In loving memory

With profound sadness, we share with you the news of the passing of Ms Sainey Ceesay BSc, MBA.

Sainey was an extraordinary woman, a devoted mother, an unwavering activist, a cherished friend, and an accomplished scholar. Her loss is a tremendous blow to her family, friends, community, and colleagues.

Sainey's courage and dedication resulted in major contributions to fertility care in The Gambia. She tirelessly championed the cause and supported countless women, men, and families with fertility challenges through her compassion, wisdom, and practical guidance.

Her legacy is woven into the very fabric of our network "Fertility Care in the Global South", as well as much of the work we have accomplished together. Simply put, none of it would have been possible without her passion, leadership, and relentless commitment. We have relaunched the network as the Sainey Ceesay Fertility Care in the Global South Network.

Let's remember Sainey not only for her remarkable achievements but also for the courage, strength and inspiration she brought into our lives and the lives of so many others. Her impact will continue to resonate in all the work we do. We can honour her memory by continuing what she started and striving towards fertility care for all in The Gambia and worldwide.

If you would like to share your condolences or memories of Sainey, we encourage you to do so as we celebrate her incredible legacy together.
